LIMA — Isabelle I. Fockler, age 96 of Lima, died at 7:53 p.m., Monday at The Pines at Glen Falls, New York. She was born August 24, 1917 in Ney, Defiance County, Ohio; the daughter of the late Earl Charles and Delta Fay Mock Dreher. On January 22, 1939 she married Delbert D. Fockler who died May 15, 1982.
She graduated Defiance High School in 1935 and attended Lucas County Hospital School of Nursing. She was a member of both Cridersville and Shawnee United Methodist Churches, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, pianist, on the Board of Trustees, the altar guild, and held offices of President, Vice President, and secretary of WSCS. She worked as an office manager for several years with Lima dentist and was also a dental assistant. She volunteered with the Lima Council on Aging, Otterbein-Cridersville, and was a Docent at the Allen County Historical Museum for 18 years.
Mrs. Fockler is survived by a son – Doug (Christine) Fockler of Norfolk, VA; a daughter – Karen (Robert) Goldberg of Lake Luzerne, NY; grandchildren – Drew Fockler, Alison O'Loughlin, Kerri Bundy, and Courtney Brown, 9 great grandchildren; and a nephew – Nick Batt and great nephew Adam Batt.
She was preceded in death by a sister Zenith Batt.
Funeral services will begin 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Rev. Charles Martindell will officiate. Burial will follow at Ney Cemetery in Defiance County, Ohio.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 23,) at the funeral home.
