LIMA — Lynn A. "Cowboy" Bell, 73, of Lima and formerly of Spencerville, died at 7:52 p.m. Dec. 11, 2013, at Lima Memorial Health System.
He was born Nov. 22, 1940, in Spencerville, a son of Z. Patrick and Dorothy V. Wieter Bell, who are deceased.
Lynn graduated from Spencerville High School in 1958, and he went on to servce in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years, retiring in 1979 as an air traffic controller.
He is survived by a son, Jeff (Treina) Bell, of Oklahoma City; a daughter, Hayley (Rob) Kennedy, of Albuquerque, N.M.; five grandchildren: Kenneth, Michael and Amanda Bell and Sarah and Amanda Kennedy; a brother, Truman J. Bell, of Cridersville; a sister-in-law, Mary Savidge, of Spencerville; his niece and caregiver, Vicki Bell, of Wapakoneta; nephews Doug Bell of Spencerville and Mike Bell of St. Marys and a large extended family.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Randall Bell.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville. His cousin, the Rev. Steve Bell, and the Rev. Tom Shobe will officiate. Burial will be in Spencerville Cemetery, with military rites by Spencerville Veterans and his flag presentation by Air Force personnel from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
