JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. — Martin Edward LaRue,90, passed away at 5:50 a.m. February 19, 2014 at Lakebridge Health Care Center in Johnson City, TN.
Martin was born June 4, 1923 in Ada, OH, to Ross E. and Elsie C. (Closson) LaRue who preceded him in death. In 1965 he married Irene F. Centers who preceded him in death on June 10, 2013.
He retired from the Ford Motor Company in 1980. He had also pastored Free Methodist Church for several years and had worked at June Floor Company. He proudly served in the United States Army, during WWII. He attended the Circleville Bible College, life member of the VFW Post 1275, Lima and the American Legion Post 52, Harrodsburg, Kentucky.
Survivors include: 2 Sons, David D LaRue and Mark E. LaRue of Johnson City, TN; A Son-in-law, Ron Williams of Johnson City, TN; 3 Step-Sons, William Johnson of Defiance, Buford Johnson of Jonesboro, GA, and Rodney Johnson of Findlay; A Step-Daughter, Patricia Bear of Melrose; several Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren.
Martin had 7 Sisters.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia R. Williams.
Graveside services were held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 21 at Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel with Chaplain Dick Coon officiating the service. Military Rites were performed by the VFW Post 1275.
