Rolland Finley


LAKEVIEW — Rolland Alvin Finley, 88, of Lakeview, died at 2:14 a.m. on February 19, 2014 at Lima Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Clay Township on November 21, 1925, a son of the late J. Lester and Tressie (Metz) Finley. He was preceded in death by his wife Amarilla, whom he married on March 27, 1949.

Surviving is his son, Paul (Pam) Finley of New Braunfels, Texas; and grandsons Jeff (Allison) Finley of San Antonio, Texas and Brett Finley of New Braunfels, Texas. He is also survived by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Nancy and Jim Heininger of Granville, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

In 1943, Rolland graduated from Blume High School in Wapakoneta. He was a retired farmer.

He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Montra where he had served the congregation in various roles over the years including financial secretary and deacon.

Pastor Shannon Vogelezang will conduct a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 24, 2014 at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Montra. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, February 23rd the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 214 W. Pike Street, Jackson Center, Ohio and one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Wapakoneta, Ohio.
