LIMA — B.L. "Bill" Jacobs, 89, was reunited with his wife in Heaven 4:20 pm Friday, June 13, 2014 at the Wapakoneta Manor.

Bill was born March 4, 1925 in Lima to the late Charles D. and Lula (Miller) Jacobs. On November 26, 1955 he married Geraldine L. "Jerry" (Huber) Jacobs, who preceded him in death on November 25, 2013.

He was a graduate of Shawnee High School, and The Ohio State University. Bill retired from Terra, formerly Standard Oil and SOHIO, where he worked as a Chemist and Lab Manager. He was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, and enjoyed to travel and gardening.

Mr. Jacobs was a WWII veteran of the United States Marines, serving in the Occupation of China. He was a member of Garrett Wykoff Lodge #585 Free & Accepted Masons, and a 32nd Degree Mason, of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Toledo. He was a member of American Legion Post # 96, Lima, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #8445, Wapakoneta and Elks BPOE #54, Lima.

Bill is survived by close friends Rocky and Vickie Rowe, and his neighborhood friends.

He is preceded in death by 2 sisters, Kathryn Myers, and Nancy Nye.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, June 18, 2014 in the Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Pastor Jerry Hall will officiate Military rites will be provided by VFW Post #8445, and the United States Marines. CHILES – LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES are in charge of arrangements.
