CHELCIE LENHART

LIMA — Chelcie Carol Lenhart, 95, was called into the presence of the Lord 2:20 pm May 24, 2014 at St. Rita's Medical Center.

Carol was born August 18, 1918 in Ada to the late Chelsea Clifton and O. Marie (Pugh) Smith. On November 22, 1942 she married Ferd Lenhart, who preceded her in death on April 13, 1982.

Mrs. Lenhart graduated from Jersey Shore High School, Jersey Shore, PA., in 1935. She attended Duquesne University Night School 1940 – 1941 in Pittsburgh, PA., and The Ohio State University, Lima Campus from 1976 – 1977. Carol retired in 1984 from Blue Cross in Lima. She had previously worked for the Lima News Publishing Co. from 1947 – 1957, Smith Truck Sales and Service GMC Truck Dealer her family's Lima business from 1945 – 1947, Lima Citizen Publishing Company from 1957 – 1964 and for the Lima Star Publishing Company from 1965 – 1966.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, Betty Lou Smith; five nephews, James H. Smith Jr., Lynn R. (Michelle) Smith, Terry A. Reynolds, Timothy A. Reynolds, and Theodore A. (Yolanda) Reynolds; and three nieces, Janet M. (Greg) Rodden, Margo Louise (Danny) Sharp, and Margaret "Margie" Newland.

She is preceded in death by a brother, James H. Smith Sr.; two sisters, Miriam Louise Reynolds, and Phyllis M. (Ray) Burr; and a nephew, David A. Smith.

Services will begin 11:00 am Monday, June 9, 2014 at CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, SHAWNEE CHAPEL. Pastor Jeff Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada.

Friends may call from 10:00 – 11:00 am on Monday at the funeral home. A luncheon will follow the services at the funeral home.
