RICHMOND, Ky. — A. David Allgier, 74, of Richmond, passed away Monday, June 16, 2014 at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center of Richmond.

He was born May 16, 1940, in Lima, Ohio, to Arnold A. and Rilla May Bowman Allgier, both of who preceded him in death. David received his BBA degree from Indiana University, where he later worked in Information Technology. He retired as the Director of Information Technology at Eastern Kentucky University, after over 20 years of service. David was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Richmond.

Survivors include his wife, Jill Hilliker Allgier of Richmond; two daughters, Abby Allgier Horn (Dan) of Richmond and Allison Allgier of Cincinnati, Ohio; and two grandsons, Joe Horn (Carly) of Washington, DC and Andrew Horn (Melissa) of Richmond, and his favorite Corgi, Tater.

The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 p.m. Thursday, June 19, 2014 at Oldham, Roberts & Powell Funeral Home, for a celebration of his life. Private burial will be Saturday, June 21, 2014 at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Lima, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Hospice Compassionate Care Center, 350 Isaacs Lane, Richmond, KY or to The EKU General Scholarship Fund, 521 Lancaster Avenue, Richmond, KY 40475.
