LIMA — Harvey 'Sewell' Hunter, age 77, of Lima, died 5:15 p.m., Friday, January 3, 2014 at Ohio State Wexner Medical Center in Columbus.
He was born March 30, 1936 in Pineville, KY to Henry Harvey and Dora Baker Hunter; both parents preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Carol E. Walter Hunter of Lima.
Harvey was a semi driver for Roundys and was a member of the Lima Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by a son Randall Lee Hunter of Lima; a daughter Lisa A. (Mark) Tucker of Elida; 6 grandchildren Casey (Justin) Flanagan, Megan Tucker, Cindy Hunter, Cayla (Nick) Miller, Stormie (Montaray) Jennings, Joe Hunter; 7 great grandchildren Kloey, Brody, Ayden, Declan, Noah, Weslee, Braxton;2 brothers Curtis (Treecie) Hunter , and Roger (Tammy) Hunter both of KY; 2 sisters Kathy (Ray) Fuson, and Katie (Gary) Hinkle both of KY; and sister-in-law Lois Hunter of Lima.
He is preceded in death by a daughter Janice Kay Hunter, daughter –in-law Cindy Hunter, grandson Ethan Tucker, 3 brothers James, Eugene, and Elbert, and 2 sisters Verdie and Edith.
Funeral services will begin 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 8, at Lima Missionary Baptist Church, Lima. Pastor Terry Brock and Pastor Denny Hunter will officiate. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery. Military Rites will be observed by V.F.W. Post 8445, Wapakoneta.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 7 at Bayliff and Son Funeral Home, Cridersville; and one hour prior to funeral service Wednesday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Make-A-Wish Foundation in honor of Ethan Tucker or to the Lima Missionary Baptist Church.
