OREGON — Jean M. Clark, 87, of Oregon, Ohio passed away December 5, 2013 in her home.
She was born in Monterey, Indiana on April 29, 1926 to George and Madge (Stevens) Berry who preceded her in death. On June 4, 1949, she married Richard Clark who died on May 6th, 1967.
Jean was a graduate of Purdue University. She had been a 5th grade teacher for the Oregon City Schools and taught at Starr Elementary for 25 years. In 1973 she received Outstanding Elementary Teacher of America. She was an avid bridge player and gardener. She enjoyed genealogy, cooking, piano playing and had participated in book and investment clubs. Jean was a devoted and selfless person and especially loved being with her family.
Surviving are her daughters Debbie S. Avers, Woodville, OH; Cathy L. Clark, Oregon, OH; son Barry D. (Angie) Clark, Lima, OH; grandchildren, Nick (Stephannie) Avers, Lindsay (Nathan) Reiser and Katie Clark; siblings, Bill (Sandy) Berry and Sandy (Charles) Brading; sister-in-law, Nancy (Dave) Campbell; great grandchildren, Avery Reiser, Rutledge Reiser and Harper Avers.
Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
