LIMA — Richard Lewis "Dick" Beasley, 82, passed away at 1:20 p.m. April 19, 2014, at St. Rita's Medical Center. Richard was born July 15, 1931 in Cape Girardaeu, MO, to Curtis Allen and Eula Lee Hedrick Beasley who preceded him in death. On August 4, 1956 he married Lois June Williams, who survives in Lima.
Mr. Beasley retired in 1994 from the City of Lima as the Building and Zoning Administrator. He was a member of the Church of the Holy Nativity. In 1950 he graduated from Lima South High School. He was a five year Navy veteran during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion, Veteran of Foreign Wars, the Eagles, and the Elks, all in Lima. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, and woodworking.
Survivors also include four children, Richard Curtis (Paula) Beasley of Lima, Darren Franklin (Terri) Beasley of Lima, Rachel Lee Beasley of Lima, and Michael (Fae-Marie) Donathan of Ft. Mitchell, KY; his sister, E. Camille (Bernard) Mathews of Lima; ten grandchildren, Audrey Beasley, Amber (Brad) Wright, Nathan (Lauren) Beasley, Holly (Don) Johnson, Benjamin (Hannah) Pannell, Jessica (Luke) Korwin, Brian North, Montana White, Jessica Hoffman, Jeffrey Hoffman; 14 great-grandchildren, Madison, Hunter, Mackenzie, Blake, Brantley, Liam, Baby Korwin (on-the-way), Joshua, Daniel, Amya, Arianna, Conner, Owen, and Boston; and his beloved Chihuahua, Calla.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy LaDonna Neds.
A memorial service will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014 at the Church of the Holy Nativity on North Cole Street. The Very Reverend Richard T. Palmer, Ph.D. will officiate the service. Military rites will be performed following the service at the church. Burial of his cremated remains will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery.
