ROBERT STURGEON II
BLUFFTON — Robert "Bobby" Sturgeon II, 60, died 1:20 p.m. Thursday, October 24, 2013 at the University of Michigan hospital.
He was born January 17, 1953 in Junction City, Kansas to Robert A. and Peggy (Day) Sturgeon who preceded him in death. He is engaged to Merry Shaffer, who survives in Lima.
He was a supervisor of maintenance with Lima Properties for 28 years and also the owner and operator of several businesses in Lima.
He attended the Cornerstone Harvest Church. He was an avid Nickle Plate railroad collector. His passion was his family. He enjoyed building and restoring to make all things new. He was an avid Cincinnati Bengals and Ohio State University fan. Bobby was a family man and his joy was having family gatherings at his home.
Survivors include two sons, Jamie Sturgeon of Lima, Gordon "Bud" (Angie) Shaffer, of Nolensville, TN., four daughters, Desiree (Timothy) Henning, of Bluffton, OH., Reagan Sturgeon, of Beaverdam, OH., Lara Shaffer, of Lima, Dyan (Doug) Scott, of Lima, grandchildren, Dakota, Justice, Trey, Tim "T.J.", Jamie II, Justin, Jason, Kalob, Koleman, Jayden, Emmie, Quinn, Melissa, Shay, Tre, Zayne, Reece, Jayden, Renee, many great-grandchildren, three brothers, Clark (Dee) Sturgeon, of Lima, Brady Sturgeon, of Van Wert, OH., Shayne (Melissa) Sturgeon, of Lima, two sisters, Dayna Fisher, of Lima, and Shayna (Dale) Sargent, of Cairo, OH. and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel. Pastor Terri Vonderau will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
