OTTAWA — Sam Lee "Old Goat" Boedicker, 78, died April 30, 2014, at 8:26am at The Meadows of Putnam Acres, Ottawa, Ohio.
He was born July 19, 1935 to Arthur S. and Malinda E. (Stevenson) Boedicker, who preceded him in death.
Sam was married to Linda Lee Hudson, who survives in Ottawa.
Mr. Boedicker attended Lima Central High School, after which he joined the U. S. Marine Corps, serving in Korea. He worked for and retired from the Ohio Transportation Center, East Liberty, Ohio. Prior to this, he worked for Koneta Rubber Company, Wapakoneta, Ohio. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time with grandchildren, riding his Harley with his brother Don, and just being outdoors with family and friends. Sam was an avid Ohio State and Cleveland Browns fan. He loved his dog "Jake" and his cat "Peanut."
Survivors include: three sons, Dean (Tonya) Boedicker of Lima; Perry (Mindy) Boedicker of Lima; Shawn Allen of DeGraff; one daughter Brandy (John) Schut of Ontario, Canada; 15 grandchildren, 15 great grand children, one sister in-law Cathy McDougle of Columbus Grove and two brothers in-law, Stanley Hudson and Tommy Jack Hudson both of Lakeview.
He was preceded in death by one son Rodney Dewayne Boedicker, and seven siblings; Don Boedicker, Dale (Evelyn) Boedicker, Harold (Rita) Boedicker, Bill (Gloria) Boedicker, Marie (Carl) Mason, Linda (Ronnie) Focht and Jean Todd.
Services will be held Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 3:00 pm at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove with Pastor William Crunk officiating.
Friends may call from 1:00-3:00pm until time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
