LIMA — Walter W. Cook age 55, passed away August 7, 2014 at 4:30 am at his residence.
Walter was born July 30, 1959 in Lima, OH, to Walter and Naomi (Boroff) Cook Nichols. His mother survives in Lima. He was previously married to Kelly Ribley who survives in Lima.
Walter was a 1976 graduate of Bath High School. After high school he joined the U.S. Navy. Once he was out of the military, he started working as a construction worker and worked with various different local construction companies and later he also worked as a self employed construction worker until he became ill. He had been attending the Cridersville Independent Baptist Church. Walter was an avid fisherman, golfer and he loved to play board games on his computer. He was also a big Ohio State University Athletics fan.
He is survived by a daughter, Danielle N. Cook of Lima, OH, 2 sons, Brandon L. (Jaiden Johnston) Cook of Lima, OH and Gary W. Cook of Lima, OH, a granddaughter, Alanah Cook, a grandson, Cohen Cook, 3 sisters, Jennifer (Michael) Finn of Wapakoneta, OH, Terry (Mannie) Elizondo of Cape Coral, FL and Pamela (Rodger) Wauben of Lima, OH and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Elaine Protsman.
There will be a funeral service on Monday August 11, 2014 at 11:00 am at the CHILES LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES EASTSIDE CHAPEL.
Visitation will be on Sunday at the EASTSIDE CHAPEL from 6-8 pm and also on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery following the service.
