LIMA — William Ocious Davis, age 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at approximately 1:30 p.m.
Mr. Davis was born on January 14, 1929 to Amos and Mamie Ferrel Davis Coleman in Jones County Mississippi.
Mr. Davis retired from Phillip-Sylvania in Ottawa in 1988. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and received a Purple Heart after being wounded in the Korean War. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 1911, AmVets and the American Legion Post #95.
On August 21, 1962 he was united in holy matrimony to Bessie E. Paris who preceded him in death on April 5, 2007. He was also preceded in death by his parents, 2 sons: William Paul Davis and Henry "Chucky" Paris. A brother: James L. Davis. 3 aunts: Frankie Mattison, Ida Greene and Willia Hall, 2 cousins: Milton Quinn and Josephine Dillard.
"Willie" loved to fish. He spent many days at all the local reservoirs and lakes where he caught lots and lots of fish He was known for making his own fishing equipment, in fact he made equipment for many of his friends and acquaintances He was an amazing cook and was best known for his BBQ. He loved to travel and spend time with his family.
He leaves to cherish his pervious memory 4 daughters: Sandra Paris of Findlay, Ohio. Cathy Davis, Rochelle Davis and Kimberly Davis all of Lima. 4 sons: Michael Paris (Jennifer Fox), Kenneth Davis (Ngozi) both of Lima. Robert Davis (Mary Jo) and Bryan Davis both of Toledo, OH. 25 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Two cousins: Ida Francis Taylor and Ruth Roman both of Detroit, MI. A special friend: Ricky Collins. A host of other relatives and friends.
Home going services will be held at Jones-Clark Funeral Home on Monday, January 13, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Charles H. Johnson will be officiating.
Visitation/Wake services will be held at 10:00 a.m. until time of services.
