WILLIAM GREELEY

LIMA — William F. (Bill) Greeley , 80, died at 9:05 PM on Friday, December 27, 2013, at Springview Manor Nursing Home in Lima.

Bill was born on Saturday, October 28, 1933, in Lima to the late William A. Greeley and Magdalene [Vandeven] Greeley, who preceded him in death. On October 27, 1956 he married Edna [Herman] Greeley and she survives in Lima.

He was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church where he spent his whole life as a member. He also was a member of B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge #54, Loyal Order of Moose #199, Eagles Aerie 370, and Knights of Columbus #2661 all of Lima. He retired from Nickles Bakery as a driver after 31 years, he had previously worked at The Lima News. Bill was an avid fisherman and spent his retirement winters in Florida and summers on Lake Erie with his wife, son's, family and friends.

He is survived by four sons; Charles (Kristina "Tina") Greeley, Robert (Brenda) Greeley, Edward (Gloria) Greeley, and William G. (Mary) Greeley, all of Lima, a sister Rosemary Studer of Perrysburg, OH, eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Also surviving are seven sister-in-laws and five brother-in-laws, and multiple nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother-in-laws, Eugene Studer and Richard Rhine.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 01, 2014 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.

A parish wake service will be at 7:00 P.M.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. , Thursday, January 2, 2014 at St. Gerard Catholic Church with Father Mike Houston officiating.

Interment will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima.
