JACKSON CENTER — Martha L. Shaner, 89, of Jackson Center, passed away at 8:32 p.m. on Friday, February 7, 2014 at the Fair Haven Shelby County Home in Sidney. She was born in Logan County, Ohio on August 27, 1924 to the late Lewis and Louisa (Gross) Metz.

On April 5, 1947 she married Roy A. Shaner and he preceded her in death on February 26, 2003.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter Rita Maddy; one sister and two brothers.

She is survived by a daughter Marcia (Dan) Burch of Lewistown; two sons, Rick (Patricia) Shaner of Alaska and Tom (Pam) Shaner of Jackson Center; a son-in-law Tom Maddy of Sidney; nine grandchildren; two step-granddaughters; 12 great grandchildren; four step-great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Martha was a seamstress and member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Montra.

Pastor Shannon Vogelezang will conduct a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Montra. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 11th from 4-7 p.m. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 214 W. Pike Street, Jackson Center, Ohio. Burial will be in Emanuel Cemetery in Montra.
