WAPAKONETA — Michael Glen Stearns, 49, of Augusta, GA, formerly of Wapakoneta, died Sun. Feb. 23, 2014, in Augusta, GA. He was born Sept. 2, 1964, in Lima, the son of Richard Glen & Audrey (Cull) Stearns. His parents survive in Wapakoneta.
Other survivors include, 3 siblings, Joseph Stearns & Daniel Stearns both of Wapakoneta, & Janet (Michael) Pettifor, Cassopolis, MI, and their daughter, Atalie (Andrew) Goffeney, FL, 3 ½ brothers, Willie (Linda) Pilgrim, Ft. McMurray, Alberta, Canada, Boyd (Elsie) Cull, Ignace, Ontario, Elvis (Belinda) Loder, Ft. McMurray, Alberta, and their children, Leon, Corey, Bradley, & Kayla Pilgrim, Jody (Greg) Waldoc, Joshua & Aimee Loder.
Mike was a machinist and worked at the Monarch Machine Tool Co., Sidney, On Time Machine Co., Wapakoneta, as well as several other places. He graduated from Wapakoneta High School and Apollo Joint Vocational School with a Machine Tool Operations certificate. Mike was a Baptist and a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. An avid fisherman, he was a former member of the Auglaize Fish & Game Club.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Tues. March 4, 2014, at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta, Rev. Daniel Hunt officiating. Burial is to follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery, Wapakoneta. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Mon. at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed at www.bayliffandeleyfh.com.
