ROUNDHEAD — Paul Edward Adkins, age 76, died on Monday, February 24, 2014 at 11:25pm at his residence in Roundhead, Ohio.
He was born October 9, 1937 in New Carlisle, Ohio to Wiley and Sarah (Hurt) Adkins who preceded him in death. On May 24th, 1961 he married B. Christine Lowery. They both are long-time residents of Hardin County. Christine continues to reside in Roundhead.
Paul was a veteran of the United States Air Force, worked for several years in the Kenton Fire Department and then he went to Durez Occidental Chemical Corporation. He later retired from Ford Motor Company – Lima. Paul was a lifetime country & western musician. Through his gift for music, he not only followed his passion, but also brought joy to the audience.
Surviving are 2 daughters and a son: Tonya (Daniel) Hites of Roundhead, Melody (Robert) LeHew of Manhattan, Kansas, and Edward (Amy) Adkins of Hendersonville, Tennessee; 5 grandchildren: Jared and Jordan (Jessica) Hites, Isaak LeHew, Paul and Sarah Adkins; and 3 sisters: Mary Hamilton, Deloris Waddle, and Wilma Prater.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Louella Lawrence, and 3 brothers: Corbit Charles and Kenneth Adkins.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger with Pastor Dan Holbrook officiating. Burial will be in McDonald-Fairview Cemetery, Kenton.
Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 PM on Friday, February 28, 2014 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger and until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
