OTTAWA — Richard L. "Dick" Stechschulte, 66, of Ottawa died at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, March 31, 2014 at his residence. He was born August 17, 1947 in Lima to the late Richard and Marcella (Fenbert) Stechschulte.
He was survived by a brother: Alan (Jill) Stechschulte of Wauseon; 2 sisters: Jeanne Robbins of Naples, FL. and Linda (Mike) Grubb of Leipsic; a brother-in-law: Richard Maenle of Indian Lake; 13 nieces and nephews; and many great and great-great nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his sister: Janet Maenle; and a brother-in-law: Ken Robbins.
Dick was a retired Navy veteran and was also retired from Philips Display Components, formerly of Ottawa. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, the Ottawa American Legion Post 63, Leipsic VFW, Ottawa Eagles 2234, and Leipsic Fish and Hunt Club. Dick was an avid reader, golfer, and cook.
A Memorial Service will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2014 at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa with Fr. Matt Jozefiak officiating. There will be military rites by the American Legion, VFW, and AMVETS after the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at sea. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
