RONALD FOCHT

DELPHOS — Ronald L. "Ron" Focht, 75, of rural Delphos, died at 12:56 a.m. March 23, 2014, at his residence with his family at his side, following an extended illness.

He was born April 17, 1938, in Lakeview to William Roy and Susie Ann Cummins Focht, who preceded him in death. On July 27, 1960, he married Linda Lou Boedicker, who died Jan. 22, 2004. His special friend Linda Wireman survives in Spencerville.

Mr. Focht was a professional painter, having worked for Quinn Painting and Lima Painting Contractors and retired from the Painters union Local 1020. He had also been a cook at Lima Memorial Hospital. He was a 40-year member and past master of Acadia Lodge 306, Free and Accepted Masons of Spencerville, past high priest of Spencerville Chapter 169, Royal Arch Masons, past illustrious commander of Ivanhoe Commandary 54, Knights Templar, a member of Shawnee Commandary 14, Knights Templar and a Knight of the York Cross of Honor, Ohio Priory 18.

Survivors also include a daughter, Vicki (Tim) Van Schoyck, of rural Delphos; two granddaughters, Allison (Tony) Caudill, of Delphos, and Misty Van Schoyck, of Delphos; three great-grandchildren, Brittany Caudill, of Delphos, Shyanne Caudill, of Delphos, and Dakota Caudill, of Delphos; a great-great-grandson, Noah Looser, of Delphos; seven siblings, Robert L. Focht, of Spencerville, Elsie Mae Harrington, of Wapakoneta, Bill Focht, of Spencerville, Eugene "Gene (Nancy) Focht, of Kansas, Sue Ann Fritz, of Oregon, Linda (Dick) Kuck, of Tennessee, and Darlene (Ed) Croft, of Michigan; and a brother-in-law, Sam Boedicker, of Ottawa.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Brandi Van Schoyck; and two siblings, Velma Mort and Raymond "Jake" Focht.

Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville. The Rev. Jim Fletcher will officiate. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery east of Spencerville.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, where Masonic services will be held at 8 p.m. by the Acadia Lodge.
