CAIRO — Shirley M. Newland Rasor, 85, died at 6:34 a.m. Nov. 6, 2013, at Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora.
She was born March 9, 1928, in Waynesfield to Bassitt and Edna Rapp Newland, who preceded her in death. On Aug. 30, 1947, she married Charles "Ote" Rasor, who survives in Cairo.
Mrs. Rasor was a 1946 graduate of Blume High School, Wapakoneta. She retied from Ex-Cell-O Corp. after 30 years. She was a member of Cairo Untied Methodist Church. She loved sewing and cooking, enjoyed traveling and was an avid photographer.
Survivors also include a son, Mark (Melody) Rasor, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; two daughters, Debra (Douglas) Stratton, of Cairo, and Janis (Robert) Mulcahy, of Lima; a sister, Emily Koth, of Indian Lake; a brother, George "Bud" (Marcheta) Newland, of Boise, Idaho; seven grandchildren, Jeremiah (Stacy) Stratton, Shane (Lorie) Stratton, Kaila (Matt) Cook, Kaitlin Mulcahy, Casey Mulcahy, Aaron (Brandy Wells) Rasor, and Zachary Rasor; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Fred Rasor; and a brother, Mike Newland.
Services will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. Pastor Rich Rakay will officiate. Burial will be in Cairo Eastside Cemetery, Cairo.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
