LIMA — Roger D. Butturff, age 69, of Lima, died 12:35 a.m., Sunday March 2 at his residence. He was born April 17, 1944 in Lima to Harold Clyde and Sarah May Strawbridge Butturff, who preceded him in death. He married Donna Cheryl Shawler May 29, 1964 and she survives in Lima.
Mr. Butturff had been a night manager with various groceries starting with Pangles and ending with Save A Lot in Piqua. He was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church and attended Shawnee Alliance Church. He enjoyed coin collecting, fishing, going to auctions and antiquing. He truly enjoyed work and spending time with his family.
Survivors include a son Kelly Joe (Tina McHugh) Butturff of Lima and daughter Rhonda (Scott) Eddy-Stienecker of Lima, 3 grandchildren: Ritchie Eddy, Kyle Steinecker and Sara (Mauriel) Rodriguez, siblings: Gerald Allen (Mary) Butturff of TX, Jan Mayotte of Pandora and Ralph Edward (Maxine) Butturff of Waynesfield and a sister-in-law Charlotte Shawler of Muncie, IN.
He was preceded in death by sister-in-law Jean Butturff, brothers-in-law Gary Mayotte, Danny Shawler and Larry (Myra) Shawler.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville.
The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 7 at the funeral home with Pastors Daniel Messner and David Stanford officiating and burial will follow in Shawnee Cemetery.
