LIMA — Earl Farler age 84, passed away April 30, 2014, at 7:39 pm at his residence.
Earl was born July 22, 1929 in Ivyton, KY, to William and Versie (Howard) Farler who preceded him in death. On August 4, 1952 he married Alice Atkins Farler who survives in Lima.
Earl had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a loving husband and father. He had a profound positive impact on all who knew him, leaving this world a much richer place. He loved music and playing his guitar. He brought joy to the hearts of many through his performance on stage, in his church and retirement centers. His greatest satisfaction came from giving to others, which he did until he arrived into the welcoming arms of his Lord and Savior.
He is survived by a Daughter, Teresa (Robert) Lyme of Jackson Center, OH, Son, Jim (Pat) Farler of Nokomis, FL, Daughter, Sheri (Brian) Flarida of Lima, OH and a Son, Ed Farler of Lima, OH, 9 Grandchildren, Rhonda Coppler, Keith Coppler, Randy Coppler, Nicole Snyder, Amy Farler, Paul Farler, Brandon Flarida, Stacy Hefner and Sarah Glasscox, 16 great-grandchildren, a Brother, Jack Bowling of Pinnacle, NC and a Brother, William (Betty) Farler Jr. of Lima, OH.
He was preceded in death by 5 Sisters and 2 Brothers.
Funeral services will be held at the CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES SHAWNEE CHAPEL on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 11:00am.
Visitation will be on Friday at the SHAWNEE CHAPEL from 6-8pm and then one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday. Officiating the service will be Rev. Randy Davis. Military rites will be provided by the VFW #1275 and the U.S. Army. Entombment will be in the Memorial Park Mausoleum following the service.
