DELPHOS — Alma E. Beckman, 87, died at 10:30 p.m. May 4, 2014, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind.

She was born Aug. 16, 1926, in Ottoville to Gebhard Sr. and Mayme Bohn Gasser, who preceded her in death. On Oct. 11, 1952, she married Herman H. Beckman, who died April 30, 2012.

Mrs. Beckman was a farmer's wife and she enjoyed sewing and gardening. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She worked at Drapery Stitch for more than 25 years.

Survivors include four daughters, Marge (Ken) Wolski, of Cincinnati, Jeanette (Al) Baaske, of Convoy, Donna (Brian) Blake, of Grand Forks, N.D., and Helen (Paul) Dixon, of Van Wert; a sister, Rosemary Kramer, of Delphos; a brother, Gebhard (Ruth) Gasser Jr., of Ottoville; and eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Wilma Gasser; and a brother, Rudy Gasser.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. The Rev. Dave Reinhart will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, where a parish wake service will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
