WAPAKONETA — James L. "Jamie" Copus, 50, of Wapakoneta, died 5:00 p.m., Tues. June 3, 2014, went home to be with the Lord with his family by his side. He was born Oct. 13, 1963, in Lima, OH, the son of Sonja M. (Davis) Copus and Leonard W. Copus. His mother survives in Rockford, MI, and his father and step-mother, Leonard (Bobbie) Copus survive in Byrdstown, TN. On May 13, 2006, he married Rebecca S. Wireman, and she survives.

Other survivors include, 4 children, Zechariah & Jeremiah Tippie, both at home, Lyndsy (Josh) McNamara, Columbus Grove, OH, James L.E. (Michelle) Copus, Bucyrus, OH, 2 step-children, Jennifer Leighty, Quincy, OH, Brenton Karbowiak, Delaware, OH, 3 grandchildren, Clayton James McNamara, Tyler Douglas Copus, Dalton Joseph McNamara, 2 brothers, Leonard W. (Colleen) Copus, II, Rockford, MI, Daniel H. (Kim Duty) Copus, Wapakoneta, a mother-in-law & father-in-law, Lynn & Patricia Tingler, Wapakoneta, a father-in-law, Wayne (Kim) Wireman, Lakeview, OH, a brother-in-law, Shawn Ickes, Wapakoneta.

He was preceded in death by a wife, Sheryl (Woten) Copus, a former wife, Tracy Loyer Greve, his grandparents, and his step-daughter, Candace Newland.

Jamie worked as a supervisor at Plastipak, Jackson Center for 30 yrs. He was a member of the Evening Light Tabernacle, Wapakoneta, and a 1982 graduate of Wapakoneta High School. He loved the Lord and spending time with his grandchildren. His other hobbies included fishing, hunting, and grilling out.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Fri. June 6, 2014, at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta, with Pastor Stephan Coressel officiating. The family will receive friends 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., Thurs. and 1 hr. ahead of the funeral on Friday. Memorials may be directed to the Evening Light Tabernacle, , or to a .
