LIMA — Leonteen (Lee) K. Jackson Clayton, 85, of Lima, Ohio, formerly of Sidney, died July 9, 2014 at 9:20 p.m. at Lima Memorial Hospital.
She was born May 2, 1929 in Kettlersville to Harvey and Alvina, Luedeke Gritzmaker , who preceded her in death. She was previously married 23 years to Donald L. Jackson. In 1970 she married Howard Clayton who survives in Lima.
Mrs. Clayton was a homemaker and had retired from Roselawn Manor in Spencerville, after 13 years. She was a Girl Scout leader in Cridersville and a past volunteer for the Literacy Counsel in Lima Ohio. She was a member of Westview United Methodist Church in Cridersville. She was a loving Mother to her 4 daughters, and cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a teacher, mentor and companion to her daughter Aimee. She loved gardening, dancing, music and old movies. She will be sadly missed.
Survivors include four daughters, Stephania Jackson Keller (Tom), of Bristol Virginia, Darcy Jackson Barthel (Patrick), of Canton, Ohio, Julie Jackson Fought (Gary), of Lima, Ohio, and Aimee Clayton at Mary Ann Brown Group Home, Lima, OH. Two grandsons, Joshua Fought (Lisa) of Charleston, SC and Nathan Keller of Bristol, VA. Three granddaughters, Jennifer Hoegemeyer (Tim), of Fuquay Varina, N.C., Laura Morris of Westerville, Ohio, and Heidi Snyder (Josh) of St. Marys, Ohio. Eight great grandchildren, Levi, Canaan and Eden Hoegemeyer, Amelia Morris, Jackson and Hudson (due September) Fought, and Logan, Morgan and Brooklyn Snyder.
She was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Mrs. Alton Quellhorst (Eunice), Mrs. Ernest Curtis (Evelyn), and Mrs. Curtis Gruebmeyer (Eldora).
In keeping with Lee's wishes, there will be no visitation and a private family graveside service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Pearl Cemetery in Sidney, Ohio.
