WAPAKONETA — Edith C. Bell, 100, of Wapakoneta, died 1:00 p.m., Tues. July 15, 2014, at The Gardens of Wapakoneta. She was born June 17, 1914, in Uniopolis, OH, the daughter of Floyd & Emma (Focht) Gesler, who preceded her in death. On March 17, 1936, she married John W. Bell, and he died Sept. 7, 1994.

Survivors include, 2 daughters, Patricia (Larry) Thuman, & Nancy (Bob-deceased) Shaffer, both of Wapakoneta, 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren & 7 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Kerry Thuman, a great great grandson, Mason Thobe, a sister, Joy Bondurant, and a brother, Richard Gesler, Sr.

A 1932 graduate of Blume High School, Edith retired from Fisher Cheese Co., Wapakoneta after 30 years service. She enjoyed doing embroidering and counted cross stitch. She pieced over 50 quilts. She also enjoyed baking pies, cookies, and making homemade noodles.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Sat. July 19, 2014, at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta. Burial is to follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m., Fri. and 1 hr. prior to the service, Sat. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to The Gardens of Wapakoneta.
