LIMA — Mrs. Murdis Scales Hall, age 96, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at approximately 10:27 p.m. at her residence surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born on September 10, 1917 in Griffin, Georgia to the union of James and Delar Taylor Woodley, both parents preceded her in death.
On April 17, 1956 she was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Lawrence Hall who preceded her in death on June 6, 2007.
She was a Homemaker and a member of Fourth Street Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing, laughing and playing with all her Grandchildren and she especially loved sitting on the porch with her family around her.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory, five sons; James M. "Mike" Scales of West Virginia. Ricky A. Scales, Jackie L. Scales, Willie J. Scales and Eric A. Hall all of Lima. Six daughters; Linda Houston (Leroy), Shirel Youngblood (Howard), LaVonne K. Dilworth (Joe), Jill A. Scales, Lawreena A. Savage and Teresa Hall all of Lima. 36 grandchildren, 95 great grandchildren, 50 great-great grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Jeanette Woodley, of Lima. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a son; David Goins. 2 sisters; Daisy Baker and Berniece Hall. 6 brothers; Elmore Woodley, Richmond Woodley, Willie Woodley, Clifford Woodley, Edgar Woodley and James Woodley.
Home going services will be held on Monday, July 21, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Fourth Street Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Earnest Stephens, Jr., officiating.
Visitation/Wake services will be held on Sunday, July 20, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Jones-Clark Funeral Home, Inc.
Interment at Memorial Park Cemetery
