LIMA — Harold H. "Harry" Landwehr, 86, died at 7:27 p.m. July 25, 2014, at St. Rita's Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 1, 1927, in Delphos to Carl and Katherine Klevorn Landwehr, who proceeded him in death. On May 1, 1954, he married Joan Wrocklage, who survives in Lima.
Mr. Landwehr was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked as a supervisor for computer operations at BP, where he retired after 39 years. He was an active member of St. Rose Catholic Church, Lima. He had volunteered at the food pantry and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors also include three sons, Joseph (Judy) Landwehr, of Lima, Tim (Kathy) Landwehr, of West Alexandria, and John Landwehr, of Columbus; two daughters, Julie (Dr. Andrew) Seiter, of Greensburg, Indiana, and Amy (Daniel) Taylor, of Alexandria, Virginia; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen V. (John) Haehn, of Wapakoneta; and a brother-in-law, Darrol Keck, of Delphos.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald (Alba) Landwehr and Bernard G. (Verda) Landwehr; and four sisters, Jeanne E. (Robert) Bendele, Ruth (Lenard) Bensman, Mary (John) Hiller and Lois Keck.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos. The Rev. Ron Schock and the Rev. David Ross will officiate. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery with military rites.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Harter & Schier Funeral Home, Delphos, where a parish wake service will begin at 7:30 p.m.
The family would like to sincerely thank the St. Rita's staff for the wonderful care they gave to Harry and his family during his illness.
