LIMA — Rachel Mary Yoakam, 75, passed away August 12, 2014, at 10:10 pm at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
Rachel was born June 29, 1939 in Lima to Carl and Edith Hartman DeVier who preceded her in death. On June 7, 1958 she married Gerald "Jerry" Yoakam and he survives in Lakeview.
Rachel graduated from Bluffton High School. She was a homemaker and member of First Mennonite Church, Bluffton. She enjoyed painting, crafting and bowling. Rachel enjoyed camping especially in the Indian Lake area.
Survivors also include three children, Kenneth (Cathy) Yoakam of Bluffton, Kathie (Michael) Amstutz of Bluffton, Kevin (Heather) Yoakam of Berea, eleven grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two great grandsons, a sister, Raeann Cook and stepmother, Ruth DeVier.
A memorial service will begin at 11 am Friday at the St. John Mennonite Church, Pandora. Rev. Lynn Thompson will officiate.
