ISAM HAMLIN
FINDLAY — Isam "Joe" Hamlin, 93, formerly of Lima, died at 11:50 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2015, at Birchaven Village in Findlay.
He was born on March 10, 1922, in Chenoa, Kentucky, to Jacob "Briscoe" Tillman Hamlin and Frankie Jane Davis Hamlin and they preceded him in death. On September 14, 1947, he married Barbara J. Kensler and she survives.
Joe is survived by four daughters, Shirley (Will) Andrews of Rawson, Vicci (Al Smith) Hamlin of Chesterton, Indiana, April Hamlin Haley of Tipp City and Nancy (Tony) Drees of Sidney; sixteen grandchildren, thirty three great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Hamlin Ferenczi, three brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Hamlin retired from Nickles Bakery as a baker. He had previously worked in the coal mines of Kentucky. He was a W.W. II U.S. Army veteran, a member of the American Legion Post 96, a proud union member for many years and a longtime member of the Orioles Nest 173.
There will be a private memorial service held at a later date.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society.
