KEITH BENNINGTON
LIMA — Keith E. Bennington, 87, passed away at 6:27 a.m. Thursday, November 27, 2014, at Lima Memorial Health Systems.
Keith was born July 19, 1927 in Ogden Center, MI, to the late Chauncey and Florence (Bailey) Bennington. He was the youngest of eight children and the last to pass. While stationed in Quantico, VA for the United States Marines he married the love of his life, Frances I. (Hinkle) Bennington on December 12, 1945, a Lyons, Ohio girl. Frances survives in Lima. They were just two weeks short of their 69th anniversary.
Mr. Bennington was a Lima resident since 1959 and retired from Lima Welding Supply, where he was the manager. Keith was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge in Wauseon, OH and in Lyons, OH. He enjoyed working with wood and metal, and loved traveling with his loving wife of 69 years. Keith was a veteran of the United States Marines, serving during WWII.
Keith and Frances were blessed with three children, Carol J. Clum of Cridersville, Betty L. Ferris of Melbourne, FL, and Steven E. (Brenda Armstrong) Bennington of Woodville; 10 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren,
He was preceded in death by: a son-in-law, Jerry L.Clum Sr.; 2 brothers and 5 sisters.
Services will begin 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 1, 2014 at CHILES - LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL. Pastor David Sanford will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 1, 2014, at the funeral home.
