THOMAS HULLINGER

LIMA — Thomas Lee Hullinger passed away September 12, 2016 at 9:37 AM. He went to be with the Lord. He was born in Lima, Ohio to the late Clarence and Lois Hullinger. He married Mary Lou (Strahm) Hullinger August 19, 1950, celebrating 66 years together. She survives in Lima.

He was the father of 3 children; Greg Hullinger of Cuyahoga Falls, Denise Fett of Lima, and Keith Hullinger of Grand Junction, CO. He also had 6 grandchildren; Nicki (Gilbert) Ford of Powell, D.J. (Yolanda) Fett of Westerville, Greg II (Abby) Hullinger of Stow, Gina (Mark) Allen of Copley, Gayla Hullinger of Cuyahoga Falls, and Keaton Hullinger of Austin, TX. He has 11 great-grandchildren; Sophie, Gillian, and Ayla Ford of Powell, Noah, Xavier, and Ellie Fett of Westerville, Reneé, Jonathon, and Jeanette Allen of Copley, Dylan Hullinger of Stow, and Thomas Hilt Allen (Deceased).

He is survived by 2 sisters; Jan (John) Woolley of Lima and Sue (Harry) Hunt of Lima. Thomas is preceded in death by his brother, Robert "Bob" Hullinger.

He served in the US Navy from 1948-1952 He worked as a meat cutter and also worked for Agrico Chemical Co., sold Kirby Sweepers, and worked at Standard Oil Co. for 11 years. He owned The Barr Bakery as well as Hullinger Oil Co. until he retired. He loved spending time with his family, fishing, and rooting for the Browns and Buckeyes. He enjoyed working in his yard and taking care of his fish and pond.

Thomas was a great Christian man and fondly helped at the church on many occasions. He will be missed by many for his generous help and handyman expertise. He was a great role model for his kids and grandkids. He always prayed at every meal and family gatherings. Thomas enjoyed being a witness and telling people about the Lord and now he'll be resting peacefully in Heaven. He would want to be remembered for his kind-hearted love of life.

His family will receive friends on Thursday, September 15, 2016 from 6-8PM at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, OH.

A funeral service will be on Friday, September 16, 2016 at 10AM at Bluelick Bible Church where Pastor James Neighbors will officiate. Entombment will follow at Memorial Park Mausoleum.
