WANDA J. HOHLBEIN
DELPHOS — Wanda J. Hohlbein, age 93, of Delphos, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2017 at 4:35 P.M. at Vancrest Health Care Center.
Her Family…. She was born January 20, 1924 in Delphos to Joseph and Marcella (Boerger) Mesker, who both preceded her in death. On October 26, 1946 she married Robert "Bob" J. Hohlbein, and he survives in Delphos.
She is survived by her husband of over 70 years, Bob Hohlbein; a son, William "Bill" Hohlbein of Indianapolis, Indiana; a daughter, Lisa (William "Bill") Mullenhour of Lima; a granddaughter Lauren; two brothers, Joe (Shirley) Mesker of Ft. Jennings and James (Mary) Mesker of Delphos. She is also survived by sisters-in-law; Rita Mae Pohlman, Valita Lammers, Mary Lou Gerdeman, and Dolly Hemker, and brothers-in-law; Dick Hohlbein, Don(Janice) Hohlbein, and Jerry(Angie) Hohlbein, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by; sisters-in-law, Alice Meyer, Dorothy Hohlbein, Sue Hohlbein, and Velma Ricker, brothers-in-law; Virgil Meyer, Melvin Pohlman, Carl Hemker, Paul Lammers, and John Ricker, and Richard Gerdeman.
Her Legacy…. Wanda was a 1942 graduate of Delphos St. John High School. She worked in Delphos as a secretary at John Luma Hay & Straw Dealer where she met her future husband Bob. She was a cashier for Meyer's IGA. She was a lifelong member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and the Delphos American Legion Auxiliary Post 268 for 65 years. Wanda belonged to various card clubs in addition to volunteering at the Delphos Thrift Shop, and the Right to Life Society.
Her Farewell Services.… Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 15, 2017 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos, where a Parish Wake Service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to The Right To Life Society. Online condolences may be shared at www.weberfh.net.
