Myrtle Ann (Oglesby) Norris Obituary
Myrtle Ann (Oglesby) Norris, 80, of Moscow Mills, passed away on Monday, Aug. 13, 2018 at SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital St. Charles.
She was born on Sept. 8, 1937 in St. Louis, a daughter of the late William E. and Ida A. (Hewitt) Oglesby. Myrtle was united in marriage to Gerald Tannehill at New Liberty Methodist Church in Corso in 1954. she later married Donald Norris on March 4, 1967 in St. Louis and he preceded her in death on Aug. 12,1992.
Myrtle attended high school in Silex. She was a skilled seamstress owning and operating Norris Sportswear and later working for David's Bridal and MEMC. Myrtle was a former member of Order of Eastern Star, and New Liberty Methodist Church. She chased every dream, fishing, playing cards/games with her sister Dorothy, kids, and grandkids. She loved farkle, pinochle and dominos just to name a few. She also loved photography, painting, and chasing Dale Earnhardt every chance she got. She was an avid NASCAR fan. She also cherished memories of her four-legged friend Miley, her favorite lap buddy.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, parents; one son Dan Allen Norris; one daughter-in-law Rebecca (Becky) Tannehill and one great granddaughter Cheyenne Mayes.
She is survived by her three daughters and three sons Gerald E. Tannehill JR (Kathy, of Troy, Gwendolyn S. Tucker (Fred) of Elsberry, Faith A. Burgess (Punky)/Bill Thompson of Winfield, Mark W. Tannehill of Winfield, Bonnie L. Mueller (Larry) of Byrnes Mills, and Robert L. Norris of Moscow Mills; grandchildren Nik, Branden, William, Eric, Jamie, Rachel, Lisa, Casey, Kerri, Jody, Jesse, Josh, Cheri, Jared, Jessica, and Alexis(Ali); 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; one sister Dorothy Humphrey (David) of Moscow Mills and one brother Jim Oglesby (Mary Lou) of Columbia, Ill. ; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 24, 2018 at Kemper-Millard-Keim Family Funeral Chapel, located at 351 Monroe Street Troy. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2018 at the Troy Chapel. Interment will be held at the New Liberty Cemetery in Corso, Missouri.
