LINCOLN, IL - Bertha M. Scroggin, 95, passed away Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, at 11:30 a.m. at the Rosewood Care Center in St. Charles, Ill.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at the Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln with Mr. Ron Otto officiating.
Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
Burial will be in New Union Cemetery in Lincoln.
Bertha Madelyn Scroggin was born June 26, 1918, in Eminence Township (Gold Springs), the daughter of John and Mabel Veff Vannoy. She married Wilbur Scroggin in 1948. He preceded her in death in 1965.
She is survived by her children: Marvin Scroggin of Seattle, Wash., and Melvin Scroggin and Lori Green both of St. Charles, Ill.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her siblings: Fern, Marie, Lawrence, Thelma and Charles Vannoy; one son, Van McCray; and two daughters, Shirley McCray and Betty McCray.
She was a member of the Atlanta Christian Centre.
Memorials may be made to the Logan County Food Bank.
