Carol Combs
MT. PULASKI, IL - Carol Combs, 68, of Mt. Pulaski, passed away at 12:40 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.
Carol was born May 19, 1946, in Lincoln, Ill., the daughter of Eugene and Marie Morris Wallace. She married Eddie Combs on Feb. 15, 1963, in Broadwell, Ill. He survives her.
Also surviving are four children: Sherri (Bob) Combs Galvin of Lincoln, Karen Combs of McLean, Eddie (Stacy) Combs of Lincoln, and David (Ashley) Combs of Mt. Pulaski; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, John Wallace.
Carol had a passion for bowling; she enjoyed spending time with her friends and playing Bingo. Carol also liked to test her luck playing the lottery, and she was no stranger when it came to shopping. Above all else, Carol loved her family and her dog, Babe. She will be sorely missed by anyone who was fortunate enough to have known her.
A memorial service celebrating Carol's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014, at First Christian Church in Mt. Pulaski with Pastor Mark Weber officiating. A visitation will take place from 10-11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014, prior to the service at the church.
Burial will follow services at Zion Cemetery in Lincoln.
Memorial donations may be made in Carol's name to: Mt. Pulaski EMS.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mt. Pulaski.
