Donald "Pete" May
LINCOLN, IL - Donald "Pete" May, 81, of Lincoln passed away Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014, at 1:21 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Ill.
Pete was born Dec. 1, 1932, in Macon County, the son of Carl and Geneva Woolums May. He married Judy Mason on Jan. 1, 1954, in Middletown, Ill. She survives him in Lincoln.
Also surviving are his children: Donald E. May Jr. of Novi, Mich., and Tammy Rich Miley (EJ Miley Jr) of Lincoln, Ill.; one grandchild, Cade (Karry) Rich of Atlanta, Ill.; one great-grandchild, Taylor Rich; and one sister, Connie Madigan of Lincoln, Ill.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gary May.
Pete was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the 44th Infantry Division in the U.S. Army, member of Crime Stoppers, worked at Illico Oil Company for 45 years, was a security guard at the Lincoln Courthouse for many years, was a member of Law Enforcement of Logan County in Lincoln, Mt. Pulaski, and Emden, an avid hunter, and was a member of the Lincoln Christian Church.
Services for Pete will be 10 a.m., Monday Oct. 20, 2014, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln with Ron Otto officiating. Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014, also at the funeral home. A burial at New Union Cemetery will follow the service where full military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post # 263.
Memorials may be given to: American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.

I'm very sorry for your loss of Pete. I was thinking about him a week or so ago & wondering if he was still around. My parents worked with him for many years at the Kerr/McGee gas station in Petersburg & we all thought highly of him.
