MT PULASKI - Genevieve L. Swigart, 96, Mt. Pulaski, IL, passed away at 7:45 AM Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012 at Vonderlieth Living Center, Mt. Pulaski, IL. Funeral services will be 11 A.M., Aug 27, 2012 at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL with Pastor Frank Pieper officiating. Burial will be in McCord Cemetery, DeWitt, IL. Visitation will be 9 A.M. – 11 A.M. at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, IL. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Township-Swearingen Memorial Library, St. Joseph, IL.
Genevieve was born on Aug. 18, 1916 in Lane, IL, the daughter of Francis and Rosa Bennett Miller. She married Harry W. Swigart in Missouri. He passed away on Aug. 11, 1965.
Survivors include 5 children, Cathy A. (David) Bassett of Mt. Pulaski, IL; Thomas J. (Emma) Swigart of Mobeetie, TX; Daniel C. (Alice) Swigart of Mesa, AZ; Eric L. (Zala) Swigart of Newman, IL; Rose L. (Scott) Kennedy of Chestnut, IL; 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 1 son, Jerry S. Swigart, her parents, 2 sisters and 1 brother.
Genevieve worked at the St. Joseph Township-Swearingen Memorial Library in St. Joseph, IL as a clerk, archival restorationist and for the children's story hour. She was affiliated with St. John's Lutheran Church in Mt. Pulaski, IL. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her life.
At age 70, Genevieve went sky-diving.

She will be missed dearly. She was such a good sport putting up with all us girls and the pranks we pulled. She was loved by many and will be missed by all. Love u Rose. Dinee and Quintin
