Leroy Otto Rubin

DECATUR - Leroy Otto Rubin, 79, of Decatur formerly of Mount Pulaski died at 3:12 pm. Tuesday March 12, 2013 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Saturday March 16, 2013 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church (2155 N. Oakland Ave. Decatur, IL. 62526) with Pastor Brock Abbott officiating. Visitation will be 2 hours before service time at the church. Burial will be in Mount Pulaski Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. Tanzyus-Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of his arrangements.

Leroy was born January 3, 1934 in Kinmundy, IL., son of Martin J. and Ella K. Bergmann Rubin. He served in the U. S. Army June of 1956 to July of 1958. He was honorably discharged from the Army Reserves in 1962. Leroy worked at Stetson China for 13 years and then The Eaton Corp. in Lincoln, IL., for 28 years. He married Janet Lee Downing September 24, 1961 in Mt. Pulaski, IL.

He is survived by his siblings, Lavern Rubin of Decatur, Betty Lyon of Mt. Pulaski, Floyd Rubin and Shirley Fairbanks of Decatur, nieces and nephews.

His parents and one son, Jeffrey Dale Rubin preceded him in death.

The family wishes to thank the DMH ICU nurses and staff and the staff of McKinley Court for the loving care given to Leroy, also special thanks to Pastor's Brock and Bill Abbott from Pilgrim Lutheran Church and Pastor Russ Weise and Vicar Brett Hinrichs from St. John's Lutheran Church for the visits and prayers for Leroy, and to all others who prayed for Leroy.
