William D. "Billy Dale" Sullivan

SPRINGFIELD – William D. "Billy Dale" Sullivan, 62, passed away Monday, June 9, 2014, at his home.

He was born Dec. 2, 1951, in Lincoln to William A. and Harryet (Read) Sullivan. He married Delores Bishop on Aug. 8, 1974.

William was a guard and janitor for the State of Illinois Historic Preservation Agency. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan. He enjoyed trains and the history of Abraham Lincoln and WWII.

He is survived by his wife, Delores; mother, Harryet of Lincoln; brothers, Richard Thomas (Dorothy) of Lincoln and Kenneth Eric of California; sisters, Janet (Herb) Pryor and Jane Sullivan of Espanola, Wash.; niece, Angela (Desi) Rodriguez of Bloomington; nephews, Richie Sullivan of Lincoln and Kenneth (Kelly) Pryor of Fort Dix, N.J.; great-nephews, Andrew and Lucas Pryor of Fort Dix, N.J.; cousin, Lyle Read and family of New Holland; brothers and sisters-in-law; Mary (Ron) Smith of West Plains, Mo., Shirley Bishop, Ted (Karen) Bishop, John (Kay) Bishop and family, all of Springfield, Loren Bishop of Ohio, and Tony Bishop and family of Auburn; nieces and nephews, Lynda (Lance) Ott and family of Dover, Del., Richard (Stacey) Holder and family of Waverly, Jack Holder of Springfield, Johnny (Liz) Bishop and family of Riverton, Billy Bishop and Wayne Bishop of Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his father, William A., and a brother, Harry Glenn.

Per William's request, remains were donated to medical science and no services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to , , or Living Water Church.
