Gregory Vernon Charron, 56, of Lincoln, suddenly died at home, Friday, September 2, 2011.
Survived by wife Helena Charron, sons, Jeremiah, Nathan, Morgan. Gregory was blessed to have eight brothers and sisters: Linda, Gloria, Carolyn, Christene, Gayla, Elizabeth, Roy & Kenny Charron. Survived by parents Anna and Vernon Charron of Lincoln.
He proudly served in the U.S. Navy and was a Vietnam veteran.
The joy of his life was his seven grandchildren.
Greg was know by all as The Greatest Engine Builder! He dedicated his life, first with his father and then with his son, Nathan in Open Wheel Racing.
Cremation rights will be accorded and there will be no services. His body was donated to science.
A gathering for friends and family will be held tonight, Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at the Masonic Temple, Kickapoo St., Lincoln. At 6:00pm military rights will be honored at that time. Dinner will be "bring a dish to pass". All friends are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to his surviving spouse, Helena Charron, 516 N. Monroe St., Lincoln, IL.
