Richard L. "Dick" Martin

LINCOLN, IL - Richard L. "Dick" Martin, 83, passed away Sept. 15, 2013, at home surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Martin's wish was to be cremated. Memorial services will be at a later date.

Dick was born Jan. 7, 1930, in Lincoln, Ill., the son of Glen L. Martin and Maybelle (Rigg) Martin. He married Mary Sue Hawes on July 30, 1954 in Springfield, Ill.

Mr. Martin proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

He retired from Eaton Corporation after many years of service. He was also a self-employed electrician in the area for many years.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Sue Martin of Lincoln, Ill.; his daughter, Anne Satterfield (John) of Lincoln, Ill.; his daughter, Becky Whitfill (Steve) of Oakley, Ill.; his grandchildren: Aaron Whitfill, Sarah Satterfield and Nicholas Satterfield; great-grandson, Noah Satterfield; and his sister, Joyce Moore of California.

Dick will be remembered for his work ethic, his honesty, his vast electrical knowledge, and his love for his family.

Memorials may be made to Parkinson's Research or to Memorial Home Hospice.
