Alfred Joseph Saraceni

Alfred Joseph Saraceni, born in San Francisco on October 9, 1940 to Italian immigrant parents, died August 7, 2018 in Roseville, Calif.
He is survived by Sandra, his wife of 52 years; oldest sister Lucia; daughters Tina, Jenyene and Elena plus son-in-law Raymond; multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren. Al was preceded in death by his sister Natalie and son David.
He worked most of his life in his plumbing/heating business, but his love of cars led him to Canada to manage a large car dealership. Elected in 1980 as Butte County Supervisor Dist. 1, Al served until 1984. Roseville then became home for the next 30+ years. His desire to help people led to his involvement in local politics. Al was a Placer County Planning Commissioner, sat on the Board of Directors for Friends of Roseville, belonged to Roseville Sunrise Lions Club, and was an active political advocate for oversight of local government for more than 25 years.
Al loved his family and loved people; he talked to everyone! History and politics was a passion too, but his greatest love was cars. He knew everything about them and could easily be considered a fanatic. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service to celebrate Al's life will be held September 9, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Roseville Sunrise Lions Clubhouse, 1203 Gabrielli Dr., Roseville (Sunrise & Cirby, behind fire station and Bel Air)
In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Roseville Sutter Hospice or Roseville Sunrise Lions Club
