Clyde Clayton Knight

Clyde Clayton Knight, a long-time resident of El Cerrito, before recently moving to Folsom, Calif. Clyde passed away peacefully in the company of family at the age of 87.
Born in Stonewall Oklahoma to Adeline (Cartwright) and James Oliver Knight, he was a U.S. Army veteran and served in World War II. An accomplished businessman, Clyde was the owner of C. C. Knight Painting for over 50 years. He served as President of the California and National Painting and Decorating Contractors Association of America, and the East Bay Chapter of PDCA which established the Clyde C. Knight award given annually for service to the industry.
Clyde was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Laura Carolyn Knight and his son Steven Clayton Knight. He is survived by children, Janeen Fischer (John), Mel "Sonny" Knight (Diane), and Jaimie Knight (Peter Meuleners), along with grandchildren, Kyle Critchfield, Melanie Knight, Bret Fischer, and Kelsey Fischer.
Clyde will be missed by all. A private burial service was held and a celebration of his life will fittingly be held at Golden Gate Fields at a later date.
