Andrew 74, of Howell, Michigan, took one final flight west on July 2, 2017. Andrew was born in Columbia, SC, on December 20, 1942. Graduated from Southwest Miami High School in 1960 and attended the University of Miami, FL, where he became a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. In 1964 Andrew joined the United States Naval reserve, where he became a Naval Aviator and was assigned to the VW4 "Hurricane Hunter" squadron. For three years he tracked and flew into every major Atlantic hurricane. While remaining in the Naval Reserves, in 1969 Andrew was hired by Northwest Airlines where he had a distinguished career that ultimately led him to become a 747-400 Captain. He obtained Airline Transport Pilot type ratings on the Lockheed L-1049 Constellation, Lear Jet 35/36, Lockheed L-188 Electra, B-727, B-757, DC-10, and the B-747. Andrew retired from the Naval Reserves in 1986 as a Commander (O-5), and in 2002 retired from Northwest Airlines. He was a member of the American Legion, Reserve Officers Association, Retired Northwest Pilots Association, and the First Presbyterian Church of Howell. He is survived by his loving wife Marilyn; his dear sister Kathy Moscotti; his beloved children Michael Horner, Debra Williams, David Bryant, and Karen Bryant; his beloved grandchildren Robert, Anthony, Jack, Ben, Cameron, Eleanor, and Lawson; and his beloved great-grandson Dustin.
