About Nevada

Nevada is a mecca for tourists, thanks in large part to its legalized gambling. But the state offers far more than the glitz and glamour of the Las Vegas strip. Adventurers can travel north, away from the desert oasis of Las Vegas, to cowboy country to explore Ruby Mountains and the hot springs of Paradise Valley. Besides Las Vegas, Reno and Lake Tahoe are major resorts in the state. Nevada’s attractions include the Hoover Dam and the Great Basin National Park. Pyramid Lake and Lake Mead are two of the state’s favorite recreation areas. Nevada is one of the driest states, if not the driest, getting only 7 inches of rain per year on average.
