Manassero, Michael Joseph  
Michael Joseph Manassero went to be with our Lord on July 13, 2015, after a sudden illness, at the age of 78. He was born on December 31, 1936, in Stockton, CA to Mike B. and Jiovanna Marie "Nina" (Arnolfo) Manassero. In 1954, shortly after graduating from Lodi Union High School. He received his A.A. Degree in Ag Business in 1958 from San Joaquin Delta College. Mike enlisted in the U.S. Army National Guard in 1954. He was a member of the Lodi Battery A 636th Field Artillery Battalion. He entered Officers Candidates School and graduated as an officer. Michael quickly moved up the ranks and retired as a Full Colonel from the U.S. Army National Guard in 1996. Michael continued the multi-generational family tradition of farming throughout his life. He farmed a variety of wine grapes and walnuts with his father Mike B. and his brother Leonard. He maintained and repaired ranch vehicles and farm equipment. Mike was a member for many years, and President of the California Young Farmers Lodi Chapter. He was on the board of directors for Guild Winery from 1960-1980's, and a member of the Lodi Grape Growers Association. In 1982 he joined the Lodi Grape Festival Board of Directors, he was President for one year, and remained on the Emeritus Board. In 1978 he was elected to be on the Woodbridge Fire Department Board of Directors. He was President many times and continued to serve on the Board as an active member throughout his life. Michael married Patricia M. Frey of Lodi on August 28, 1960. They were blessed to share 54 years of marital bliss together. They had 2 children together; Melanie and Douglas. Michael had many hobbies and interests. He played in a dance band as a drummer in High School and continued to play for 15 years. He was an avid train enthusiast. Mike loved show cars and regularly attended Hot August Nights in Reno, Nevada. His military career sparked a lifelong enjoyment of military aircraft and equipment. He was also a member of the Fork Tail Devils P-38 Lightning Aircraft Club. Mike loved to play Keno, slot machines, and Roulette, but especially with his Uncle. He was an avid photographer, loved Big Band music, Dixieland Jazz, and enjoyed watching John Wayne's old western movies. His favorite T.V. show was Gunsmoke, and enjoyed watching the History Channel. He was a trout fisherman, an expert Italian mushroom hunter, which he learned from his father. He was a lifelong member of the Lodi Italian Club. Michael is preceded in death by his parents Mike and "Nina" Manassero. He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Frey) Manassero, daughter Melanie Fuso (Tony), son Douglas Manassero (Lorelei), grandchildren Anthony Fuso III, Vincent Fuso, brother Joseph "Leonard" Manassero (Cathy), nephew Gregory Manassero, niece Angela Manassero, and a large extended family. Visitation will be held on Wednesday July 22, 2015 from 9AM-4:30PM at Donahue Funeral Home, 123 N. School Street, Lodi, Ca. A closed casket Funeral Service will be held on Thursday July 23, 2015 at 10:30AM St. John's Episcopal Church 1055 So. Lower Sacramento Road, Lodi, CA 95242. Graveside committal will immediately follow the service at Cherokee Memorial Park, Harney Lane and Hwy 99, Lodi, Ca. Montoya, Rosie  
Rosie Montoya, a longtime resident of Lodi, passed away at the age of 74 on July 8, 2015. Rosie was born in Madera, California on October 19, 1940. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and being with her family and grandchildren. Rosie is survived by her mother, Anna Vitela; children, Roseanna Ahr, Paul Montoya, Cindy Ledesma, Juanita Herrera, Della Montoya, Sonya Montoya and Michael Herrera; sisters and brothers, Lupe Goodman, Alfonso Vitela, Molly Gonzales, Victor Vitela; 50 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Rojas; brothers, Salvador Verduzco, Jesus Vitela; and grandsons, Johnny Lara, Raymond Lara, and Albert Lara. A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 20, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home. There is no visitation, and committal will be private. Motz, Linda Ruth "Tiny" (Hansen)  
Age 58 of Stockton, CA after a short and courageous battle with cancer passed away at home surrounded by her family. Linda was born in Lodi, July 21, 1957 to R. E. "Chick" and Dian Hansen. Linda and Gary Motz were married July 22, 2006 in Las Vegas, Nevada in the company of family and friends. Employed for the last 30 years by General Mills and a member of BCTGM Local 59G was not Linda's only accomplishments. She had owned and operated Chaps Restaurant and Bar on Cherokee Lane, was a longtime favorite bartender at Ollie's, and worked at Flame Liquor's. As a young lady Linda showed and enjoyed being a champion barrel racer, having a love for horses. During her marriage to Gary the two spent many fun and endless hours searching for their favorite antiques. Camping at the ocean Linda's favorite spot was Wrights Beach near Bodega Bay. Most recently Gary and Linda docked their boat and RV at Ryer Island where Linda learned to fish, navigate the boat, and made many new friends. She had a green thumb for plants and her love for all animals, especially dogs was never ending. Linda was "that person" who could and would fix/repair or build any project before her. Having an out going personality and warm heart leaving only friends behind. Survivors include husband Gary Motz of Stockton, Grandson Gottleib "Gotti" Motz of Cottonwood, CA, sister Carla Brock of Stockton, sister Gail (Randy) Wilson of Hayden Lake, ID, Father in Law Roy Motz, and Brother-in-Law Ronald Motz both of Stockton, Numerous Nieces and Nephews. Preceded in death by her parents Chick and Dian Hansen and Sister Jean Hansen and Mother-in-Law Ellen Motz. Visitation will be Friday July 31 from 12 noon until 8 pm at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 Industrial Way, Lodi CA 95240. Services will be held Saturday August 1 at 11 am Chapel of Flowers at the Cherokee Memorial Park, hwy 99 and Harney Lane, Lodi CA 95240. Please join us to share memories and stories in a Celebration of life at the Lodi Eagles Hall on Lockeford Street. Donations in Linda's memory can be made to Hospice of San Joaquin County or "PALS" of Lodi.
