During her working years she was employed by The Toggery, and Peters Pontiac-Cadillac. She was co-owner of D&D Mini-Mart on Highway 88 and Vic Myers, Inc., until they were sold.
She was also well known for her community involvement and volunteerism. Dolores was a member of Lodi Eastern Star for 50 years. She was a Pink Lady at Lodi Memorial Hospital for 35 years and an active member of the Victor Farm Bureau for many years. While her children were young, she was active in PTA, Cub Scouts, Camp Fire Girls and Rainbow for Girls. She was a member of Zion Reformed Church and an active member of the ladies' sewing circle. She was a reading volunteer at Lawrence School for 15 years and loved that experience and the children immensely. She was an adoring mother, mother-in-law, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and Auntie.
