Faye Alma Tarvin of Acampo, CA, passed away peacefully at her home at the age of 88, on October 25th, 2013 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on January 5th, 1925, in Howard County, Arkansas to Charles and Cassie Perrin.
Faye left school at a young age to help out in the cotton fields and on the farm. She helped out with the war effort in WWII as one of the iconic "Rosey the Riveter". After the war she found work as a waitress at the U-Drop Inn in Shamrock, TX, where she met her husband.
Faye came to California on her honeymoon with her husband and life partner, William (Bill) Tarvin in 1947. She was a beautiful seamstress, an avid quilter and enjoyed spending time in her vegetable garden.
Faye is survived by her daughters Francine Wirtz of Acampo, Brenda (Ralph) Smith of Acampo, and Cindy (Larry) Cordone of Salinas. She is also survived by her 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Faye is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Bill Tarvin, son-in-law Phillip Wirtz along with her 2 sisters and 4 brothers. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 1st at 10AM in Evergreen Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of San Joaquin.
